A Message From Derby Hills Elementary

Marc Woofter, Principal

It is a great day to be a Dragon! In fact, every day is a great day at Derby Hills Elementary. As principal of Derby Hills Elementary beginning July 1, 2019 it is my pleasure to welcome everyone back for another fun filled and exciting year. I am thrilled to join Derby Hills this year. While I am new to Derby, I am not new to education. I bring a vast amount of experience at all levels of education. My wife, Kris, is a fourth grade teacher and my two boys are grown and live in eastern Kansas. Being an educator brings me immense joy and thus it is my mission to make certain every child experiences that same joy in a very caring atmosphere. The teachers, staff and administration are all dedicated to making everyone feel welcome, safe and secure in our school.

We are all certainly honored to have the opportunity to educate your child. We are committed to our students and will continue to set high expectations and goals for them. We will do “WHATEVER IT TAKES” to help our students succeed. We look forward to developing a positive relationship with each student that crosses the threshold into Derby Hills Elementary.

Please share in our successes as we enter into the 2019-2020 school year. We would like to extend an invitation to all of you to become active in the educational process. There is nothing better for your child’s education than to have a strong partnership with your school. Let’s build these strong partnerships together for the benefit of all students.

On behalf of the staff, thank you for entrusting your child to us. It’s going to be a fantastic school year!

Marc Woofter, Principal
(beginning July 1, 2019)
