How to Apply for a Position/Our Hiring Process...

External Applicants (Not a Current Employee)

What Position are you applying for?

  • Certified Positions - Teachers, counselors, library media specialists, psychologists, etc.
  • Classified Positions - Paraprofessionals, food service, grounds, maintenance, transportation, custodial
  • Administrative Positions - Assistant superintendent, director, principal, assistant principal
  • Substitute Positions - Substitute teacher, paraprofessional, nurse, etc.
For Certified, Classified, and Administrative Positions:
  1. Check the Current Job Postings online.
  2. Apply online (recommended) or mail an application to the Human Resource office.  Applications are available on our Job Postings webpage.
  3. Applicant will be contacted if an interview is requested.
  4. Applicant will be offered position or notified of the position being filled (only online applicants applying for a specific position will receive notice of the position being filled).
  5. Applicant accepting offer will begin the pre-employment process which includes a background check (all employees), pre-employment physical (classified), and other paperwork.  Specific instructions will be given upon hire date.  Final employment decision will be based on the successful completion of the above factors and Board approval.

Internal Applicants (Currently Employed by USD 260)

For Certified and Classified Positions:
 

  1. Check the Current Job Postings online.
  2. Fill out a Certified or Classified Transfer Request Form which is available ONLINE, in your building's main office, and at Human Resources.  Send the completed Transfer Request Form to the Human Resource office.  Attaching a resume to a Transfer Request Form may be helpful as other building administrators may not know your skills/experience.
  3. Your request to transfer (but not the reasons) will be shared with the principals/supervisors of the buildings involved.  We recommend you visit with your current principal/supervisor about your request prior to submission.


For Administrative Positions:

  1. Check the Current Job Postings online.
  2. Fill out a Certified Transfer Request Form which is available ONLINE, in your building's main office, and at Human Resources.  Send the completed Transfer Request Form along with a current resume to the Human Resource office. 
  3. Your supervisor will be notified of your Transfer Request, and your resume will be added to the pool of applicants for the open Administrative Position.
